How to Perfect the “No Makeup Look”

It’s no secret that the “no makeup look” actually requires plenty makeup and also specific application techniques but Health Magazine has made it as easy as possible with some of my favorite products! I love this clean, simple look for school or rotations at the hospital and it is easily dressed up with a bolder lip!  If you prefer step-by-step instructions, get them here!

Of course, the best way to achieve the perfect no makeup look is to ditch the makeup all together! There is no substitute for healthy, glowing skin. While I’m still on the journey towards great skin, I do have a favorite morning and night routine that I’ve had great results with!

  1. Do you use anything to set/fix the makeup? Half way thru the day, my makeup is just not the same anymore, especially my oily spots

    1. I typically use primer first to try and combat that and then finish/set with MAC Prep+Prime+Fix spray (or for a more affordable option, NYX setting spray is great!). I also recommend translucent setting powders (NYX again or if you’re into luxury brands, Laura Mercier) when you finish your makeup. You can also use these powders to set everything as you go along. For example, foundation (set it), then concealer (set it good! concealer is the culprit behind a lot of oiliness), then finish it off with a spray. I also keep oil blotting sheets handy in my wallet or backpack when nothing else seems to help!
